Songwriter/solo artist Steve Larkman from Kingston-Upon-Hull has just signed a publishing deal with Conexion Media Group plc(CXM). CXM are major composers for film and TV music and they also have a track record of hits including No 1’s and have copyright for hits performed by top international selling artists such as Elvis Presley, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Fat Boy Slim, David Bowie, Emma Bunton, Shaggy, Roy Orbison, The Prodigy, The Fugees, The Pet Shop Boys, Metallica, Moby, Holly Valance and Tom Jones.
According to Music Week, CXM are “the biggest media music publisher in Europe”.

Chris Oakes the General Manager of CXM heard 10 of Steve’s songs on myspace ( and immediately got in touch with Steve.. He says this about signing Steve – “We are very pleased to be working with Steve and look forward to playing a part in representing his songs worldwide”

Steve Larkman has been in the music industry for a long time, is a respected performer (as a solo artist and in many bands), and also ran his own recording studio, the renowed Angel Music Studios in Hull. In the past he has worked with Mick Ronson, (also from Hull and David Bowie’s guitarist), Howard Gray (who produced U2 and The Cure amongst others), Steve has also worked as a producer for Virgin Records alongside Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Ian Broudie, Elton John, George Michael, Marc Almond and Robbie Williams in the same top London Studios.

In recent years Steve has been working on solo projects and has an extensive catalogue of original songs. He has independently released a number of albums, some of the singles of which have received plenty of airplay from around the UK, Europe and the US. Northern Ireland’s Downtown Radio (which is their biggest commercial radio station) have recognised that Steve’s songs are commercially viable hits and two of the songs “Chasing Rainbows” and “Thin White Dove” have reached No.2 and No. 3 in their charts.

Another song of Steve’s “Make It Sting” won the May 2009 Hull Vibe music chart and a video is soon to be be released by the Hull Daily Mail (part of the Mail News & Media Ltd group) and will be broadcast on the Hull City Centre Big Screen and on YouTube.
