Icelandair’s Mid-Atlantic Workshop and Travel Seminar is currently taking place and is more popular than ever before. Located half-way between Europe and America, Iceland is naturally regarded as a perfect host country for this event with Icelandair’s transatlantic flights make Iceland easily accessible from both continents. Over the years, business relationships between travel industry professionals in the USA, Canada and Europe have been strengthened thanks to the annual seminar.
The Mid-Atlantic Travel Seminar usually attracts around 350 representatives from travel agencies, hotels and car rental companies. However, this year around 500 travel professionals from 14 countries are attending due to Iceland’s growing popularity as a travel destination.
The travel seminar is undoubtedly the most accessible entry to the forever growing travel market on both sides of the Atlantic and in Iceland for people working within the travel and leisure industry. At the Mid-Atlantic Travel Seminar, participants have the chance to meet and network with suppliers from all over Iceland, Scandinavia, the USA and Canada.
This year’s seminar is proving more popular than ever due to people’s growing interest in Iceland and the Icelandic tourism industry. Iceland recently gained a lot of attention after the global travel guidebook, Lonely Planet, ranked the country as one of the top 10 travel destinations for 2010. Lonely Planet, amongst other things, named Iceland as being the best value for money travel destination highlighting the potential that the tourism industry in Iceland holds for 2010.
The Mid-Atlantic Travel Seminar is currently taking place in Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavik at the Laugardalsholl Sports Hall and Conference Centre. In order to make of the seminar a unique experience for participants, many activities are scheduled throughout such as city sightseeing tours and formal dinner parties. In addition to this a choice of excursions to numerous locations around the country and a Viking Feast at the Viking Village restaurant are also taking place.
