Marketing Manager at Keflavik International Airport, Arnar Reynisson, prepares for a growth in flight traffic due to the increased media awareness towards Iceland. This incoming flight traffic is expected to begin over the next few months due to the positive rate of exchange for foreign visitors, and cheap travel.
This increased demand for flights to Iceland, tourism in Iceland, travel and commerce has lead to the island in the Atlantic being labelled as a ‘Top 10 Best Value Travel Destination for 2010’ by the Lonely Planet Travel guide.
Keflavik International Airport is Iceland’s only gateway to the world, and the starting point for holidaymakers. This intensified demand for tourism has resulted in preparation for a rush of foreign travellers. Keflavik Airport is already preparing by keeping on top of its high quality standards.
Marketing manager Arnar Reynisson at Keflavik explained, “our preparation does not only mean adding staff but we have to focus on the passenger needs and listen to what they want. The ACI customer survey allows us to keep tabs on their expectations, therefore we aim to please and make Keflavik Airport a home away from home. Many passengers do not like waiting for their flights thus the waiting time at the airport is little.
