Icelandic telecommunications company Mila set up a direct webcam feed to capture Reykjavik’s skyline on New Year’s Eve and stream it live over the Internet.
With over 200,000 visitors worldwide, the New Year’s Eve live webcam feed was a great success and captured the attention of those wishing to experience Reykjavik’s impressive firework display.
Thousands of visitors wanting to witness the spectacular New Year’s Eve firework display come to Reykjavik each year. Visitors often describe the event as something everybody should experience at least once.
Fortunately, for those who couldn’t make it, Mila’s webcam feed allowed them to experience the exploding rockets and dancing lights as it happened from the comfort of their own homes.
In addition, the telecommunications company also maintains many other webcams located around Iceland, all of which can be viewed live 24/7 via the company’s website.
These webcams are located at the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss, Jokulsarlon, Geysir, Katla, Hekla, Eyjafjallajokull, Akureyri, and Austurvollur in downtown Reykjavik.
