T.38 Fax Relay Software Operates on a Variety of DSPs and Processors

GAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) is offering its T.38 Fax Relay Software which is in compliance with the latest ITU-T recommendations. GAO Research’s T.38 fax relay software is available for commonly used processors such as TI C5000 & C6000 series DSPs, ARM processors and ADI DSPs under Windows and Linux.

The T.38 fax relay software is fully compliant with ITU-T T.38 fax relay specification while supporting V.17/V.29/V.27ter standards. It allows the transfer of fax documents in real-time between two facsimile terminals over the Internet or other networks using IP protocols. Its latest revision clarifies H.323, H.248.1, SIP and SDP call establishment and improves the compatibility between T.38 gateways and Group 3 fax.

This embedded software has been integrated and tested with hardware-based fax data modems providing operating data rates of up to 14.4 kbps. A “spoofing” function is implemented to prevent jitter, delay or lost packets. It provides support for both UDP and TCP and is optimized for fixed-point arithmetic.

This T.38 fax relay software belongs to GAO Research’s family of Fax Software. Other featured products in this line include V.27ter Fax Software which is 4800bps and 2400bps modem and is used in the general switched telephone network; T.4 – TIFF conversion software which includes checking of RTC pattern, error correction on T.4 data, and can report the number of scan lines; and T.30/T.30E Fax Control Protocol Software for document facsimile transmission in the general switched telephone network.
