Cork, Ireland – A new solution by Vodafone, Energy Data Management (EDM), gives businesses the opportunity to monitor energy efficiency at a detailed level in real-time.
Energy Data Management is a machine-to-machine solution that can give an organisation the essential information to make better decisions regarding energy-efficiency policies, processes and technology. The solution is helping organisations monitor energy efficiency at a detailed level – managing energy consumption is important for organisations operating across multiple sites.
EDM is suitable for companies in retail, manufacturing, the public sector and for any organisation that has many energy suppliers, different types of contracts and bills. In these situations, an overall picture of energy usage is difficult to achieve.
For over 10 years, Vodafone has now been monitoring its energy consumption and now has smart meters installed in 40,000 base stations – with a plan to extend the implementation of EDM in the future. The company has also started to deploy the solution to large offices and other sites consuming large amounts of energy.
Vodafone notes that Energy Data Management usually helps achieve ROI in a short time. In fact, when Vodafone used EDM to tackle inaccurate energy bills, the investment was recouped in just under a year.
A new white paper published by Vodafone, which can be viewed here, outlines in detail the benefits of the Energy Data Management solution, and how to reduce the energy efficiency and usage of a business.
